May is blank on my blog, but dramatical in my real life.
1. Since end of April to early May, the company tore down some parts, created some new space, and refurbrished some area. Same to the people working in there: a couple of old staffs left, a few divisions have been set up, and several new organization charts have been announced.
The whole group of our division went to HK to meet our HK/China members and had first brain storming meeting together, and did the first presentation to buyers in HK showroom after merge. Also Shen Zhen office moved in their brand new office which is over 150 ping and even bigger than current taipei office. Each taipei manager got a room and a lot of vacant cubes left "supposedly" for taipei merchandisers. The office locates in east gate area where is like our ximen ting (西門町) and got a long street of shops and restaurants. This indeed attracts us a bit.
2. Since merged taiwan office started to adapt to HK office's system and hopefully to keep best parts of 2 systems.
However, old taiwan bosses who have few knowledge of theoretical management but are assigned to manage division on their own, are facing problem of re-organizing teams from 5 offices (HK, TWN, GZ廣州, SHH上海, and SZ深圳), and also have to rebuild their credibility and loyalty to their new boss (HK) who used to be their old time rival. Yet most of them still stereoetype on changes and make decision upon their "old experiences" and keep the pride of their "good old time achievement". Most of the time they just announced new policy without careful thinking nor giving clearer instruction, so that everyone underneath explains policy in different way and work differently, hence complaints popped up everyday every minutes. Someone like me who's too heroic to ignore sufferred publics, just couldn't help but trying to think systematically for my boss and standing up to talk to top management spotaniously. Consequencely I made myself even tired and even impotent.

3. Since all the merchandisers flew to HK for the meeting, the trip became much more interesting and fun. Work was still busy and most of time we left the office after 9pm, but even so the girls still excited with having different delicious breakfast from street booths every morning, finding new restaurants and good sweets places, and seizing chance to go shopping until midnight.
HK shops close late as well as restaurants, so in 3 hours we kept eating and shopping and eating and talking and laughing like we were just released from some cage. Then after returning back to hotel room, me and my roomie coworker started talking about unreasonable work and policies and stupid bosses and crazy president's news... etc and couldn't stop until 2am. Although work and travelling was tiring, we still found our little fun from life.
4. There is a place called 赤柱 (Stanley) in south end of HK island,
where we spent a half sunday there for a little vacation during the trip. That morning we rushed to get work done, we hopped up the bus 973 in the afternoon and passed through the harbor tunnel, then took a 2 hr road trip to our destination. It's a vacational spot for HK people as well as a tourist spot for foreigners, for it's sandy beach and western style restaurants with outdoor tables by the seashore. There's also a famous market selling cheap cut-label stuff and brands.
The beach was tiny and busy and crowded, yet it's good enough for us to take a little break and enjoy several hours relaxation. We chose a german restaurant in 3rd floor of a hertage building for dinner and had belgium beer, sausage combo, and country bread with goose liver sauce and blue cheese as our rewards. Everything was so good and there was a moment that we totally forgot we were there for work.
5. SZ is famous for massage among us those taiwanese business people. However, except for pure foot massage and Chinese massage, few people know that the massage service is also provided in hair salon, included in hair wash. So all you need is to pay RMB$15-20 (around NT$60-80) then you can get not only your hair washed, rinsed, and dried, but also head, neck, shoulders, arms, fingers, and the whole back massage.
They have 2 types of wash- chinese wash and thai wash, the former is sit up wash and the later is lie down wash. Don't think too much, it's only washing hair and massage in public, nothing more nor in the dark. I personally recommend thai wash cuz it can be totally relaxed and you won't have chance to waste any energy reading magazines.
6. I finally got a spanish guy for spanish LE! He's from Bacelona and now is a "full time" chinese student. He's very emthusiastic in learning as well as teaching me this beginner and this is just what I want! We only met once before I left for HK 2 weeks ago but 2 days before I came back he wrote me an email for a reminder of our LE on Sat. I was very surprised and also glad that he didn't give up with me. Oh and he's funny and interesting and I guess what happened on my previous LE wouldn't happen on him. Yes I'm pretty sure.:)
