<The Artificial Wild World>
When was the last time you went to the zoo? mine was 5-6 years ago, when taipei zoo didn't have koalas and penguins, when the elephant couples were still alive, and when there weren't so many american resturants coming into the food court.
so today i went to the zoo. it seemed not as attractive for me after growing up as i was a kid to visit the zoo, but i'd still like to check it out a bit. i guess except for updating the impression of this part of taipei in my mind, i just wanted to recall a bit of the memory of my childhood, and being like an innocent kid again in this animals' innocent world (...although they'd also fight for food and sex... >_<). i'm glad i could see the brown bear here, so i wouldn't feel that sad if i didn't have chance to go to alaska to see the real, wild ones. (oh btw she's much smaller than alaska ones and much slimmer... i guess animals living in tropical countries might be all skinny... :P) it's also interesting to know that bacoons which are so cute to be so popular here are considered as trouble makers for american kids. and bisons, which i only saw the copper statues in buffalo city, also got a small family in taipei. walking under a 35 degree C sunny air, you can fully understand why those creatures in front of you decided to stay in/under the water and seemed never willing to come out, and never understand why those koalas originally from the country right below the equator still need an ac in their show room.
this is my day trip in taipei zoo, with an extraordinary american english teacher who got a lot of chinese practice from the name boards, had a few hours great time.
