For those who're interested in travelling in Philippines...

This was in fact some advice for a persian guy who can't wait to experience exotic fun, but perhaps some friends are looking for the same, so hopefully this can help...

Travelling in manila....
1) it's summer time there now and then raining season will start around june...
2) manila bay is a nice area to go... a lot of bars good resturant and night life... by the sea you can already have live band music everynight and outdoor dining...
3) if you don't mind spending P5000 (around US$100) per night for the hotel, i suggest you going check out westin plaza (near bay area), where owns nice sandy beach in the backyard of the hotel and i would say it's the only place in manila in this way... (i actually plan to stay there once i have another vacation in manila...)
4) markati city greenbell area is another night life choice... higher class area with a big mall and good resturants...
5) if you need cheap hotels like US$20 per night or even less, i can give you a couple of names which we had a little investigation in last boracay trip.... but they're in makati area...

If you wanna go to some where out of manila, some good places you can consider...
1) No 1 choice- boracay island (check out my photos so you can decide if it's your style)
2) Subic- nice beach and entertaining facilities... good part is you can drive there i/o spending whole day flying/taking buses/cruising but can still enjoy nice scene and good time...
3) Palawan island- caves.. beaches... cliffs... more wild fun...
These are the top 3 places for me and i'm sure you will have a lot of fun there. Cebu is another nice island but i heard it's too tourist oriented...

Travelling in philippines...
1) be causious when you take a taxi... some of them will charge you more than it's supposed to be...
2) don't bring too much money with you when you walk in the street... the crime rate is very high in philippines and even locals have to bring gun when going out at night....
3) ignore beggers... especially those tiny little innocent-look kids...
4) try garlic rice and mango shake... my favorite!
5) keep in mind that don't spend all of your peso or cash... leave US$10 or P550 in pocket for the airport tax when flying out of philippines...

Bon Voyage!
