Mr. Talim

So a typhoon came over and left again. Typhoon in summer time (or before and after) has been a predictable and expected thing here so except for getting food stuffing in the house we don't really bother it, except for awaiting government's dayoff announcement. My old house sometimes got flooded but it only happens when raining a lot and it hardly happened any more these couple of years. As usual the news kept reporting the route of typhoon, warning the public to stay at home and reminding people to do necessary preparation like storing water, food, getting sand bags ready and strenghening doors and windows, but also didn't forget to scare us with the horrible scenes of Katrina hitting Louisiana (go to hell you sucky taiwanese reporters!) Yesterday the working hour ended at 4pm in the whole island, and today of course no work for us. Indeed the wind was truely fierce and roaring loud last night. The windows seemed to be cracked and sometimes I even had an illusion that the whole apartment was slightly swinging. But despite of winds the rain seemed to be mild then other ones before. Good, my old house would be safe from flood.

This typhoon is quite quick, came in one day and left the next day. After a movie the weather turned back to normal, calm humid air and a bit hot. Tonight the news said there's one more coming soon and hopefully it turns to Japan eventually. If you happen to be travelling in asia, I pray for you not to meet any typhoon.
