69 Coffee

There is this coffee shop in 2 buildings away from my apartment. It's just 3 months new, and is the only coffee shop with free internet service in this area. The first time I went there is for running away from the noise created by the neighbor downstairs who was refurbishing his entire apartment since 8.30am every morning. This coffee shop opens from 7.30am to 10pm mon to sun (incredibly long eh), offers various coffee, tea, waffles, cakes, and sandwiches only- no hot meals provided. It's not right facing the street, so there're not many people coming in, at least in the several afternoons i spent there, it's never full nor packed.

There're 4 client groups showing frequently or regularly in this shop: Grandmas & Aunties, the Comic Boy, real state Staffs & their Clients, and Me. If they have this frequent visitor card, Me will definitely get the least points among those 4.

The Grandmas & Aunties are from this neighborhood. Usually the grandma brought grandma's mom here, sometimes auntie would join in in a few mins, bringing along another grandma or another auntie, or sometimes grandma would come here along. They usually ordered coffee or drinks, seldom ordered food, and they speak in mainland chinese accent, and very often the japanese would pop up in between chinese conversations. Apparently they're kind of wealthy as they know how to enjoy life. Apparently they're not early immigrant grandmas & aunties, as they're not like my grandma who grew up poor and cares more on saving then spending. Apparently they're happier grandmas & aunties who don't only pay attention on aging health and grown up kids, but live out the life with personal relaxing afternoon teatime.

If you come during weekdays, you can hardly miss this comic boy (follow the red arrow). He's always there reading comic books quietly, never bothers to order any drinks or talk to anyone. There's always a glass of lemon ice tea on his table when he starts reading, and he never ordered the 2nd one. He usually came with his grandma, the same one above, but sometimes he came alone, or stayed there on his own after grandma left. He always has enough comic books to read no matter how long he sits there, and in any case he finished the books his grandma would always volunteer to give him money to rent more. He's now a symbol, or say, a logo of this coffee shop to me. I bet you would also feel weird or uncomfortable or something missing like me if he's not there in this shop.

The third group is real state people but since they're always loud and coming in group and all in lousy suits i don't really like them so i'll skip the introduction and photo and if you want to know how they look like you go see yourself.

As for Me, i found i've fallen for this coffee shop and the people in there including the waitresses. Everytime i go, i see same and familiar faces which makes me feel secure and homey. I feel i'm part of the family of those people even tho i don't know any of them. i feel i'm in part of those people's life and maybe they think the same way to me. Maybe they're also curious about me who always brought a laptop there and sunk in the internet world, on her own. Maybe we all are just longly and free individuals and come here for some company and social acceptancy. Or, maybe we just love it's coffee and fruit waffle.
